reports install error

I am trying to install reports server 6i. If i choose web db listener it seems none of the dlls are installed (core40.dll, etc).
If I choose other web listener, the service reports errorr 186. where can i find info on that?
We're using NT and have ora 8.1.6 installed in a different home than reports server. Received on Fri Jul 14 2000 - 00:00:00 CEST
