But, see (for example) text from Steven Feuerstein's book
"Oracle PL/SQL programming" (page 165):
"In PL/SQL Release 2.3 and above, the implicit cursor
has been optimized so that it may, in isolation,
run faster than the corresponding explicit cursor..."
