Shouldn't be a problem. We use multi-tab forms throughout our application, and they often have information on different tabs from the same block.

Try this:

Create the tab canvases. Leave 'em blank for now.

Eg: Create Canvas TAB with pages PAGE1, PAGE2, PAGE3

Go to the items on the block that you want to be on page one and select them all using shift-click.
Change the "Canvas" property to TAB and the "Tab Page" property to "PAGE1"

Go to the items on the block that you want to be on page two and select them all using shift-click.
Change the "Canvas" property to TAB and the "Tab Page" property to "PAGE2"

Go to the items on the block that you want to be on page three and select them all using shift-click.
Change the "Canvas" property to TAB and the "Tab Page" property to "PAGE3"

Now using the layout editor, confirm that the proper items are on the proper tab pages and move them around however you like.

Hope this helps..
