Reports 6.0 problem with text alignment

I using Report Builder 6.0.5.32.0 on WinNT 4.0 platform and Oracle 8 db. I am having difficulty getting text to align properly in a report. The text wants to print next to the top of the object cell. I would appreciate any help.
