Reports 6.0 - REPORTS60_PATH

!!! Q: how REPORTS60_PATH variable works!!!

i have a report created on NT platform with an image object of the report referencing a GIF file physically located on NT m/c. When i transferred this report to DEC UNIX plat. and submitted it to Reports Server on the same system, i got the error message "REP-0108: File 'E:\Nanda\Mails\logo.gif' not found". It is obvious reports server is expecting the file on the path specified when the report was created on NT plat.

Even after setting the REPORTS60_PATH to the dir containing the logo.gif, the same error message pops up. If anyone has come across this problem, i would like to hear from them to resolve this.
