Oracle OLE objects has some nice features that make it very fast. You can define a parameter for a query (e.g. select * from my_table where my_col=:myParam) and use the refresh mechanism. Basically, it is allowing you to use host variables and it saves a lot of CPU cycles on the server. Jim
