You could run the reports server, call it through HTTP: and get the result back as HTML or a .PDF.
There are command line options that arrange it so Reports Runtime starts the report you choose, runs and then disappears. Doing a winexec from any tool shouldn't be much harder than setting properties for an OLE object.
