                           ObjectDRIVER,
               an Open Object Wrapper dedicated to
                   Relational Databases Reusing

ObjectDRIVER release 1.1 build 74 is now available for free download. The distribution can be obtained from
http://www.inria.fr/cermics/dbteam/ObjectDriver/.

ObjectDRIVER is our new powerful ODMG-Compliant Open Object Wrapper dedicated to relational databases reusing. With ObjectDRIVER, a relational database can be full-accessible (selection, insertion, deletion, update) as an object database after that the object schema and its mapping on top of the relational database have been defined. The object data can be queried with OQL, the ODMG query language.

C++ and Java bindings supported.

Adds and changes in this release (1.1.74):

  • Additional way to declare persistent classes in Java, using interfaces.
  • Oracle demo updated.
  • Some bugs fixed:
    • collection slot mapping in subclasses
    • crash may happen when OBJECTDRIVER environment variable is not defined
    • crash may happen when ODBC data source is not defined
    • Bad objectDriverSchemas line displayed when mistakes are detected in a schema description.
    • "pure virtual method call" may happen in some cases of mistakes in an object schema description
    • applications may crash at execution ending in some cases of object schema description
