Hi Gudrun,
Yes, I had a play today.
The safest route I could determine was to nominate a drive letter which had the same mapping on client and server to a server directory. Not ideal. [Quoted] However, the latest disaster is that UTL_FILE.FOPEN fails with INVALID_OPERATION exception on the server when using a drive mapping, even if that drive mapping has been specified as a utl_file_dir in the init.ora. I have a call in to support about this.
[Quoted] Also, is there any way to restrict the user to the directory that they are originally presented with in the get_file_name function - I can't see any. Thanks
Steve
