Hi,
One way is to call API, or write a simple wrapper Active X OLE server is VB and call it from forms using OLE packages. This is how we abstract all our Windows functionality. VB 5 or better VB6 has objects to easily create shortcuts - see Windows Scripting Host and filesystem objects.
