Editors in Forms5

I have a problem with the cancel button of an editor. I have a field that is 750 chars and to make it easier for users to view
the contents I defined an editor which pops up when the user clicks in the filed (using the when mouse click trigger). The editor works fine, however when the user hits cancel, the contents of the field is cleared out.

How does one prevent the cancel button from behaving this way ?
