Forms 4.5 Master-Detail query problem

I have a Master-Detail relation between 2 blocks, and it is working

BUT
I want to be able to query the detail block AND populate the master one with the corresponding records (e.g. with the records that are a foreign key in a detail record taht matches teh query).

Is there a documented example or a way to do this? The doc is not exactly very helpfull, and I can't find an example...

I tried (just to see if I was right) to create a master-detail relation between the detail and the master (in this order) and the result was a ON-POPULATE endless loop, as expected :-)
