FIRST JAVA SELECT SLOWER THAN THE OTHERS

We have Oracle 8.04 / Windows NT 4.0 and Oracle Webserver 2.0. The acces from Webbrowser (IE, Netscpae or Opera) is slow. We found out that the first "select" instruction in a java-cgi-program is slower than all the others in this program. It does not depend on complexity of the select instruction or the dimension of the database.
