hi, we have just moved from Unix to NT (don't know why *(&(*&^(*^).so now we have a requirement to find out how to run all the reports in the background without locking-up the user's PC..(all oracle windows applications does [Quoted] this...for eg. when you run a big select in a sqlplus section, user will not be able to access anything behind that screen..nor they can move that screen,,it's so freaking irritating)..

any coming back to my point, how do I let the user to run the reports and make the reports go in the background? (it's very easy in UNIX)

I am looking for options other than running it through report server (whihc is not going to work for us..because of some other sys. reqs).. can I build a command file and run from "at" ..(NT's run)..or is there way for me to run it through dbms_job?

thanx
Shankar "missing UNIX" subramanian
