DreamWorks SKG was conceived in 1994 by three of the industry’s most successful and creative forces - Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and David Geffen - as an environment that would "draw the most innovative thinkers from every entertainment and technology field that we love." We are currently looking for a Database Administrator to support this creative and diverse work force of over 1500 employees.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years Oracle 7 & 8 Database administration experience including schema definition, security, tuning, config, installation & patching, backup & Recovery.
- Oracle 10.6 and 10.7 applications experience.
- Data modeling including the use of CASE tools such as PowerDesigner or Erwin.
- AIX or equivalent Unix experience
- Software development or system administration background
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Excellent communication and people skills
- While not required, experience with IBM RS6000/SP2 is desireable as well as Oracle development tools (Developer 2000, Discoverer 2000, and Designer 2000)
- Perform standard database administration tasks including reviewing data models, creating schemas, managing user accounts, maintaining security, executing backup and recovery, and performing software installs.
- Support the administration of approx. 30 Oracle instances.
- Analyze and implement database related technologies: Oracle upgrades, parallel server, tuning.
- Interface with development teams to assist in design and develpment of system interfaces, data models, as well as stored procedures and triggers.
- Interface with system administrators to resolve system resource and configuration issues.
