I am new to Oracle and need to load data from ASCII files. I have been researching the SQL*Loader tool and would like to write a script to invoke SQL*Loader. Further, I would like to use an timed event within Oracle that call such a script. Is this possible?

Or, can SQL*Loader be invoked from a client application by calling a PL/SQL procedure?
Thanks in advance for any guidance you may be able to give.
