I would suggest that you have only one block.

The main part of the block is what you might like to expect -- multi record block.
Place it low in the block area.

Then add non-database fields to the block. The significant thing is that the non-database
fields are display once. I believe you set the # of records to 0 (zero).

During prequery trigger, move the values of the nondatabase fields into the corresponding database
fields. Remember to not transfer null fields -- although I do not believe this is required.
