You can try to upgrade your Repository without export/new_installation/import. It is more quickly. (But make backup/export before of course).

(It's about 3-4 hours for big project: 11 applications, 170 entities/tables, 240 modules, etc. Box is PentiumPro/512 200Mhz, 128Mb RAM, SCSI HDD)

Applications Archive/Export/Import/Restore is better, I think.
