OEM's Software Manager

Hi, we've recently installed Oracle apps 10.7 Prod 16.1 using the smart client software . It is installed in stand alone mode on the server with a copy of the smart client software installed on each desktop. We are trying to determine the best method of applying client side patches without having to "walk" to every machine and apply them . Has anyone used the Software manager in Oracle Enterprise Manager to do something similar to this?
If so, are there any horror stories or any happy endings? What should I look out for?
Any comments would be appreciated.
