  • ORACLE AND NETSCAPE IN INTEGRATION DEAL Oracle Corp. and Netscape Communications Corp. announced a agreement that will make it easier for developers to create transaction-based applications for the Internet. Netscape will license Oracle Lite, Oracle's embedded single-user database, and plans to bundle it with its forthcoming Visual JavaScript Pro 1.0.   • ORACLE'S NEW INTERNET SOFTWARE UNIT In our September 1, 1997 news update, OraWorld announced that Oracle launched a business unit to position InterOffice -- an email and groupware product it's already repositioned a couple of times -- as an engine for electronic commerce and other business applications. Oracle recently announced that it has committed 500 employees to this new business unit dedicated to its InterOffice groupware, Internet Commerce Server, and Web Application Server products.   • ORACLE "VALHALLA" JAVA IDE TO ENTER BETA Oracle is expected to announce next week that its integrated Java development environment, code-named "Valhalla," has entered beta-testing.
