JDBC Problems

For access to Oracle server from Java applet and applications I use
Oracle JDBC Drivers 7.3.4 (Thin, JDBC type 4 drivers). If server is
"Oracle7 Workgroup Server Release 7.3.2.1.1", all OK; but if server is
"Oracle7 Server Release 7.3.3.0.0", applet or application simple hang
(but when I try point incorrect TCP port or sid, I get enough quick SQL
Exceptions "Connections refused" ).
Somebody meet with this problem?
