Sure !
You have to use JDBC to access an Oracle DB from Java.
Look at www.oracle.com (Free Downloads) - there are JDBC drivers for Oracle V7 and Solaris.
Hint - Try the news group comp.lang.java.databases, within this newsgroup you can find everything for database access with java.
