Position: Oracle/GIS, Applications Delivery Manager (1 opening)
Location: Federal Way, WA (a suburb of Seattle) Company: Weyerhaeuser, a Fortune 200 company
Key Functions: Leadership and management of a unit responsible for: acquisition, development, and delivery of new systems; adaptation and/or evolution of existing systems; integration of Timberlands’ applications; and provision of application support services. Leadership provided in a TQWS environment. Ensures coordination of application release process with business user committees and business management. Ensures cross team and unit coordination results in well integrated and effective services and products for the Timberlands businesses. Position interfaces with: key IT vendors and service providers and with other Weyerhaeuser IT management on applications strategies, standards and cross sector projects.
Requirements: Demonstrated general IT management and planning to
include: knowledgeable about IT industry trends and directions including
those relevant to Forest Management; broad business systems experience
(>15 years); IT strategic planning or application architecture experience
preferred using ORACLE and GIS applications on HP/UX and NT platforms;
annual planning and budgeting experience (> 10 years, > 5MM annually).
Customer orientation with business prospective to include: forest
products or natural resource industry experience, relating to people at
all levels; commitment to total quality concepts; and understanding
alignment with business goals and processes. Technical skills and
competencies to include: expert project management experience >5 years,
w/projects $5MM and multi-years), progressive application development
experience (> 10 years), ability to implement standards based application
delivery practices and processes; knowledge about state-of the art
application technologies and processes; and understands application
architecture and information modeling. Leadership skills and
competencies to include; knowledgeable about and experienced in TQWS and
high participation; supervisory experience (>10 years, >10 employees);
effective staff development skills and processes; facilitation of
cross-functional teams and boundary issues; and effective processes for
scheduling projects and resources.
