how to build a report with multiple summary columns

Hi,

   I want to build a report of format where each row looks like this:-     

   customerid total_ord_ month#1 total_ord_month#2 totl_ord_month#3

Each of last three columns is sum of all orders for the customer for that particular
month.
The only way I can think of is to run the query three times with different months
..
I feel there has to be a better way.
