I have had the unique experience of working in DEVELOPER 2K, VB, and some JAVA.
The DEV2K is tightly integrated with tha oracle database as someone had forementioned.
Its strength is in what it does which is provide the front end rapid app dev tool for Oracle
databases. It lacks in some respects the flexibility for really custom jobs but once again
what you get is a relatively easy to use and fast dev toolset as opposed to what you can do
in VB and even more flexibly in C++/JAVA. But then I'd rather code and debug a DEV2K
app in a day or two than write tons of VB or a 3GL to do the same thing. I believe it allows
for developement of apps using a smaller dev team as well.. Received on Tue Mar 18 1997 - 00:00:00 CET
