That may well be, but companies are still buying RH EL version. The same thing happened with RDBMS. Diagnostics and tuning pack are slightly more elaborate STATSPACK that are sold at a very steep price. Beware of Oracle bearing gifts. That is why I will never advise my employer to start using OEL, period. Oracle is ripping us off with extremely high prices. I want to keep the strategic Linux distribution that everything else runs on separate from Oracle. I don't trust Oracle. I will start trusting them when they let me run AWR report for free.
