Hehehehe! Interesting. I now use a 1TB usb2 disk for my photos with a backup on another of similar size. Each cost me 150. If anyone told me that would be possible three years ago, I'd have said: "nonsense"! We currently process 500GB/day of new data to our DW, with a final increase of size of 4GB/day (aggregated, filetered, cubed, etc). This results in around 4TB/day of writes (temp, data, indexes, sorts, etc) to it. We're currently architecting for that being "bumped" to around 3TB/day nw data resulting in an increase of 30GB/day stored, with around 40TB/day total interim writes, within the next 24 months. Don't get me started on how much we read and will be reading...

We live in interesting times...
