Privileges can be assigned in a number of ways ... explicit grants of system and object privileges, through roles, and through roles granted through other roles.

Go to Morgan's Library at www.psoug.org and look up:

SYSTEM PRIVILEGES Each page contains the queries required to track down the information you have requested.
