As for your question, there are interesting examples floating about, see http://asktom.oracle.com/tkyte/flat/index.html for example.

Another thought, is there an oracle db on your appserver? If not, you might be able to do something like install XE, use external files rather than loading, then CTAS over a dblink to the real db - creating indexes only at the end. What is fastest/best may depend on your hardware, do you have a fast and reliable network connection? Onetime  or cyclical? Appending or all new? Lots of data and lots of other ETL to justify buying Informatica?
