A -Enterprise Grid - in Oracle related technology means :

Storage    Grid : Automatic Storage Management
Database   Grid : RAC
Middleware Grid : Application Server Farms or Clusters
Grid operations : Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control

And there are mechanisms related to AS and RAC that are grid related. eg. FaN - Failure of a RAC node is signaled to the AS grid.
