	If you always have a sysadmin to bail you out... 

	That might actually apply in your case. Many of us would prefer not 
to be helpless in that sort of position.

        All shoehorning Oracle onto a distro that doesn't already support it will do is give you a more intimate understanding of what Oracle's OS level dependencies are and how to use Unix.

        I guess you're right... Oracle DBAs never use Unix.
