Thanks for your reply.. but both dbs (source 8.0.5) and destination (7.3.4) use the same nls_lang paramaters that seems to be supported by the v$nls_valid_values (i will try different value though)

but unfortunatelly the export tool which i took from the 7.3.4. version and run against 8.0.5 produces the errors mentioned : EXP-00008: ORACLE error 12705 encountered ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified
