Why are PLAN_TABLEs (created by file
$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlxplan.sql) for Oracle 9i (what about 10g? I don't know.) still created with a LONG column, when this data type is deprecated since Oracle 8?

If I convert the LONG column of all PLAN TABLEs with the function to_lob() on my own, is that way supported and desired by Oracle?

Why does Oracle not provide a create statement with a LOB column instead in utlxplan.sql? Received on Mon Sep 25 2006 - 14:46:33 CDT
