Absolutely different on different versions. Auditing may involve a lot of different technologies including, but not limited to, audit, fine grained audit (dbms_fga), enabling the ORA_ROWSCN pseudocolumn, event triggers, SQLNET audit, etc.

Different versions and different needs enable different solutions.
