Hi,
I have a system that has schedule RMAN backups running throughout the day and I have documentation on how to recover to a point in time but what I don't have is documentation on how to restore those backups to a new Oracle server.
I want to be prepared in case the actual server crashes and needs to be replaced or reinstalled from scratch. I am in the process of trying it in the lab an since there is nothing in the V$ARCHIVED_LOG because it is a new DB, how to I (or can I...) use RMAN to recover the database? I've checked thorugh my Courseware in the RMAN section but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks,
