Hi,



the location of the oratab file depends on configuration,
/etc/oratab ist just default.



Search for "ORATAB=" Entry in shell script $ORACLE_HOME/BIN/dbstart
to check for location.



The last field in oratab entry toggles,


if the DB instance should start or not.


To start the instance, you should use "Y"
 test10g:/logiciel/app/oracle/Ora10g:Y
