      "internal database" could many any number of things.

       Oracle also runs some of their "internal databases" through vmware sessions running Linux hosted by Windows. Even this doesn't even necessarily mean that this is something suitable for personal R&D even, nevermind any production use.

       Now, if an NFS Netapp were really what you were making it out to be then you would expect such a configuration to be present on Oracle's newly minted list of "Validated" configurations.
