Yes of course. Unfortunately this customer uses a backup software which
does not provide a media manager for RMAN. They do not want to replace
it or buy another backup software just because of RMAN.



Moreover before switching to RMAN they were happy doing Oracle
user-managed backups through UNC paths; obviously buying new disks and
complicating the architecture just because of RMAN performance won't be
easily accepted.
