  1. Oracle doesn't say that, or you must have read a text by KLoney, who publishes books for every new version of Oracle just by putting a new cover around it.
  2. If your undo tablespace is corrupted you need to recover the tablespace. No escaping from that. Undo is protected through the redo log mechanism.
