Hi,
  There's no point in comparing these two products. Oracle and Sybase have different implementations. Its not simply a matter of time to become an expert. I know lots of guys who are working on the Oracle platform for the past many years and they are still on the same platform. What i mean to say that it takes a lot of time to become stable using a particular database product.

  And its very obvoius that Oracle is years ahead in when it comes to the scalability its product. And with every release the features get more and more enhanced and robust.

  And the oracle certification is a quality certification and helps you a great deal in your development career.
