Connecting as SYSDBA or SYSOPER

Connecting as SYSDBA or SYSOPER is possible via a special administrator's version of the logon screen. This is accessed at http://hpserv01:7777/isqlplusdba.

This URL is only available to named users registered in the HTTP password file. This file lives in the $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin directory and is created and maintained by the htpasswd command in a similar way to the Oracle password file as follows:

$ cd $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin
$ $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/bin/htpasswd iplusdba.pw oracle

In this example iplusdba.pw is the name of the password file, and oracle is the name of the user allowed to use the DBA utility. htpasswd prompts you to enter the password and confirm.

Visitors to the isqlplusdba URL will then be invited to supply the username and password before they are allowed to continue. Received on Fri Feb 24 2006 - 10:04:19 CST
