When trying to set filesystemio_options=async in the init.ora files of the ASM instances i get an error while starting them: SQL> startup
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters LRM-00121: 'async' is not an allowable value for 'filesystemio_options' SQL> This is on 10.1.0.4.0.

I guess the filesystemio_options can not be used on the ASM instance since it does not realy use any kind of file system (Running straight on the disk partitions).

Let me know if you think of something regarding this issue.
