Hi Sagy.

The value is "asynch", not "async". However filesystemio_options is not an asm parameters. It needs to be set only on the RDBMS instance (the ASM shadow processes are not the ones writing on your datafiles).

Instead of using an init.ora shouldn't be better a spfile even for ASM? Maybe a shared spfile since you are on RAC?
