in 9.2.0.7 support for direct-i/o seems to be completely broken. after upgrading to 9.2.0.7 i cannot open the database anymore when using direct-i/o. since i'm using OCFS for which direct-i/o is absolutely mandatory 9.2.0.7 is pretty useless for me. for the interested, it's bug 4744997.
i would stay away from 9.2.0.7. according to support some important patches didn't make it into this patchset.
