Assuming you mean "directory databases" such as LDAP, the answer is Oracle misses nothing, as it also has a fully compliant LDAP which uses Oracle RDBMS as the data store.

ASide from that, ORacle's implementation of distributed database is pretty solid.

Your comments seem either attempting to create FUD or are based on FUD (Fear, Uncertainly and Doubt). I suspect you have been listening to either LDAP vendor reps (who like to spread such FUD) or Java developers some of whom are known, at least here, for not understanding what is available in an RDBMS and especially not in Oracle and therefore being quick to reinvent the wheel.
