Metalink Note: 125021.1 is pretty clear on the basics. I think the only thing wrong with your original answer is it wasn't specific enough as to which conditions redirect takes place. Which Fabrizio showed, is not on non-mts/unix.

I distinctly recall years ago I had to use use_dedicated_server to get around an old Gauntlet firewall with 7.3.4 on hp-ux 10 that most assuredly wasn't using MTS, but who knows what that was all about. At least I got to learn all about network traces.
