Re: Oracle 9i Replication to a Remote Site

thanks for your reply. i haven't researched Dataguard yet so please bear with my questions:

• is this intended as an intermediate layer between the vb6 interface and the oracle server?
• silly question time: should Dataguard be run off a separate server so if the main oracle box dies (as opposed to a single tablespace) it will flick over to the back up?

i presume i still need to set up replication however between main.world and backup.world?

any clues to what steps to follow? are there any good websites for Dataguard step by step?
