Well, I didn't note the typos because they where either corrected by now (not the date, though), or I'm just not to deep into spelling to notice them. ;-)

But Don and Mike finally put the cards on the desk: They can't be bothered with proofing anything they gibber out, the so called "real-world phenomenom" (and in their cases that means throw hardware at it and the problem will go away) must suffice.

In other words, without proof I can attribute any given phenomena to any reason I happen to like, and the DBA's now bloody well have to see the world such that I'm right. And I don't need to look at silly examples on my PC when I already blurted out e.g. that indexes can be unbalanced. If pressed, they sometimes grudgingly admit that they cannot prove something (CF reduction by way of index rebuild). But then, their articles will mysteriously be rewritten (without any indication) or post will disappear.

In a way, if Jonathan wasn't called a DBA wheras the other two are noted authors, the article actually made sense. Funny thing is, that Tom Kyte also has a link to Jonathan's article, if with a somewhat different comment ;-)

Cheers,
