No need to apologize for such posts, google's a great way to have a redundant knowledge backup! :-)

I found it helpful, because I had similar symptoms during one of my 9iAS "learning experiences," and never knew what to make of it. Now I guess the ghost restore the IS people are so fond of probably messed up those system privs.
