Geez, get diverted for a minute, and memory loss sets in. Overlooked you putting this info in the subject line - apologies.

I still recommend changing the script - search for 'init.ora'. Otherwise use HJR's trick.

And still recommend learning about SPFILEs! It's in the Administration Guide at http://docs.oracle.com
